Meet Your Colleagues

The TCMA Management Messenger welcomes Matt McCombs to his new position as city administrator of the City of Aubrey. Prior to his appointment, he served as assistant to the town manager and town secretary of the Town of Addison.  Matt also worked three years in Addison’s finance department as a management analyst and in the city manager’s office for the cities of Colleyville and North Richland Hills.

Matt holds a bachelor of arts in history from the University of North Texas, with a focus on military studies. He also holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Texas with a specialization in local government management.

Matt is a past president of the Urban Management Assistants of North Texas, a graduate of the Senior Executive Institute at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service, and a member of the Leadership ICMA Class of 2013.

Matt was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, but has lived most of his life in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He currently lives in Carrollton with his wife Kelly and daughter Arden Anne.

The TCMA Management Messenger welcomes Greg Porter as the city manager of the City of Cedar Hill. Greg considers himself blessed to have served 28 years of his public service career with the City of Cedar Hill. From researching ordinances and laying asphalt as a part-time intern in 1987 and continuing through to his current position as city manager, Greg has learned community-building from the ground up. Having served in roles in planning, parks and recreation, human resources, economic development, public safety, animal control, emergency management, and public works, Greg is fond of saying that he has held every job but fire chief and carries with him a deep appreciation for teamwork and service delivery at all levels. He is a firm believer and witness to the power of planning, partnerships, and people in building healthy, sustainable, and thriving communities.

Greg has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Southern Methodist University. He is an ICMA-credentialed manager and a 2012 graduate of ICMA’s Senior Executive Institute at the Weldon School of Public Service at the University of Virginia. He serves on numerous boards of community and professional organizations, including Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center at Cedar Hill, Bridges Safe House Ministries, and the Water Resources Council of the North Central Texas Council of Governments. Greg is also currently a member of the 2015 Leadership North Texas class.

Greg has been married to his wife Pamela of 26 years. The Porters have four children, Jessica, Andrew, Joshua, and Amanda Grace. Greg is an avid outdoorsman and shares a passion and love for nature and wildlife.
