Meet Your Colleagues

The TCMA Management Messenger welcomes Scott Wayman to his new positon as the city manager for the City of Live Oak.  Scott’s appointment began September 1.  Prior to his appointment he served 13 years as assistant city manager for the city.  Scott came to Live Oak in 1987 as a police officer and moved up through the ranks to Patrol Lieutenant prior to taking the assistant manager’s position.

Scott received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma and a master’s of public administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  He is a graduate of the Certified Public Manager’s Program at Texas State University and was recently honored by the San Antonio Business Journal as the “Rainmaker” for 2014 for his efforts in Economic Development in the region.

When Scott’s life slows down, he plans to develop hobbies, but currently he has one daughter who is 19 years old on the swim team for the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.  He stays pretty active just keeping track of her.
