The TCMA Management Messenger introduces and welcomes Gerry Boren to his new position as city manager of the City of Diboll. Gerry’s appointment as city manager began January 4, 2016. Prior to his appointment, Gerry served seven years as the city administrator for the City of Fate and eight years for the City of Gun Barrel City.
Gerry is a graduate of the Certified Public Managers (CPM) program and has been active in the Texas Municipal League having served on several committees.
Gerry and his wife Marcie have been married for 28 years. They have two children, Robert and Laurel. Robert is attends Stephen F. Austin University and Laurel is a student at the University of Texas-Arlington. Gerry attends the operas and singing program in which his son participates and art shows with his daughter. Gerry and wife enjoy volunteering in community activities.
The TCMA Management Messenger introduces and welcomes Joe Ramos to his new position as the city administrator of the City of Devine. Joe’s appointment began January 4. Prior to his appointment, he served 10 years as the senior director of regional services for the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG). Prior to that position his service with the AACOG, he held various governmental relations positions with WM Inc., Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), and SBC/AT&T. Joe received his bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.
Joe, his wife Anita, and daughter Hailey recently moved the City of Devine where Hailey is a sophomore at Devine High School. They are active in, the Devine Christian Church. Joe’s hobbies include jogging, golf, and reading.
