The TCMA Management Messenger welcomes Kevin “Huck” Huckabee to his appointment as city manager of the City of Whitehouse. His appointment began October 1, following the retirement of Mike Peterson. Prior to his appointment, Huck served three years as assistant city manager and two years as police detective.
Huck has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education Master Peace Officer Certification, and is a Certified Public Manager. He is currently enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State University, and plans to graduate in 2014 with a master’s in public administration.
Huck and his wife Amy have lived in East Texas for more than 20 years. They have a son, Justin; two daughters, Jennifer and Kendal; and three grandchildren, Cash, Abby, and Annie. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids.
