Ron Bowman, city manager of the City of Boerne, was awarded the Texas Public Power Association (TPPA) Gary Brown Service City Service Award.
The award recognizes outstanding leadership and dedication by a municipal official in a city served by a TPPA member utility and who displays exceptional leadership and provides significant contributions to local municipal services and to public power.
During Ron’s 33 years as city manager, he has overseen major expansions to city facilities including the electric distribution system, water treatment plant, water distribution and storage system, and wastewater treatment plant and collection systems.
Ron’s leadership abilities are well known in public power. He has been a member of the TPPA Board of Directors since 1995 and has served as the association’s president. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Public Power Association.
